Timeless. Romantic. Real. FUN.
When it comes to choosing someone to capture something as important as your wedding day, experience, reliability, and the right artistic style really matter. As a wedding and portrait photographer, I’ve been documenting life and love for couples all over Ohio and beyond for more than 10 years and I still truly LOVE what I do.
Years from now when you are sitting on the couch together reminiscing about your wedding day, what do you want to remember most? How you felt seeing each other for the first time on your wedding day? The faces of all your family and friends that came together to celebrate your love? Or just blissfully jamming out on the dance floor together until the very last song?
Capturing those unscripted moments of pure love and joy are generally what inspire me the most about weddings. The artist in me also loves creating that perfectly iconic and timeless portrait of a couple dressed to impress on their most special and long anticipated day. Whatever you hold most dear, and whatever your vision may be, I want to hear all about it!
And whether you’re getting married in a rustic barn, historic ballroom or the courthouse, I promise to approach your day with excitement and creativity, and deliver a rich and meaningful collection of images thoughtfully crafted with a whole lotta love.
Oh, and we’ll all have a lot of fun in the process! There’s so much more I’d love to share
My family and friends are my world. My incredibly talented (and very patient) husband Mike and I live in a little house in the Short North with our sweet pup Nellie. We’ve been hard at work renovating this house into our dream home for the better part of three years, but this DIY process has taught us so much and we’re are finally in the home stretch! He loves to cook and I love to host, so we look forward to many evenings huddled around a bonfire together with our closest friends and family (and Nellie at our feet of course), just being content in shared laughter, conversation, and great food.
Traveling has also been one of my greatest joys and educators in life. I’ve been fortunate to see a lot of the world, and I credit these experiences with shaping how I’ve learned to see things as an artist. My favorite travel experiences so far include sailing through the Galapagos Islands with old college friends (forever a Bobcat! OU, O-Yeah!), backpacking through Yosemite, road tripping along the PCH, and honeymooning in Spain!
Still on my travel bucket list: Tanzania, Costa Rica, and Iceland!
A blend of natural and timeless portraiture and creative storytelling to capture all the candid moments
Waking up with no alarm, easing into the day with pancakes and coffee with my husband at home, (with our sweet dog laying under the kitchen table hoping for scraps) followed by a long walk through the neighborhood or park together. I also love traveling, whether that's a short road trip close to home or requires an international flight, a day full of exploring a new place with no specific agenda is heaven to me!
I drink my coffee black most of the time, but occasionally I'll spring for a splash of half and half!
Warm chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven
Kimberly is the best wedding photographer! My husband and I got married earlier this month, and I’m so grateful that we worked with Kimberly Potterf. Not only is she an incredible artist, she is communicative, so professional, and so fun to be around! We planned our wedding from out of state, and Kimberly’s organization was a key factor in ensuring our day went smoothly. She was so kind to share a couple photos the day after the wedding while we await the final edits. I am so grateful to Kimberly- and her fellow photographer, Kim, who were just so present and flexible throughout our wedding day. Taking impromptu huge group photos and capturing little moments that made our day so special. If you want to work with a true creative expert - work with Kimberly!
Kimberly is amazing! Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, but she has a way of making you feel comfortable and at ease, which is especially valuable if you're like I am and feel slightly awkward being photographed. I'm hoping we can use her again in the future to photograph our dog :) The photos she's gifted us are one of the highlights of our wedding. I'm so glad we worked with her!
Hiring Kim was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day. I was very picky when it came to a photographer, and as soon as I saw Kim's work, I knew she was who I wanted to photograph my wedding day. But Kim is not just a great photographer because of her work--she is a great person, and so wonderful and easy to work with. My husband and I immediately felt comfortable as soon as we met her. We are both stiff and not the most photogenic, but within 5 minutes of our engagement session, she had us laughing, acting like ourselves, and the pictures were more beautiful than I could have imaged. On our wedding day, Kim made sure everything went smoothly. Despite inclement weather, she managed to get some stunning outdoor shots. She was a joy to be around--always making us laugh and smile, and making us feel so comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day. Not only did our wedding pictures come back much sooner than I expected (and way faster than other photographers, from what I had heard from friends), but they were absolutely STUNNING. I feel so lucky to have met Kim and to have these pictures forever. I can never thank Kim enough for everything she did for us.
