Congrats to Morgan and Derek on their marriage! It was an absolutely perfect day for their outdoor wedding ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City last summer. It was no small feat getting to this momentous day, but everyone was full of joy, laughter, love, and gratitude despite the many obstacles. I’m so thankful I got to be a part of this special wedding day as their photographer and I’m excited to share their story – with some help of the bride and groom themselves of course. Read on to learn more about their wedding and engagement story!
Derek and I met online while attending Bowling Green State University. We went and got ice cream after a late night of studying. Since then, we have been inseparable, and our love of ice cream has grown.
From Morgan – Being able to call my best friend my husband. Having that constant support even when I feel like I don’t deserve it. Having someone to make me laugh when I don’t even want to smile.
From Derek – The simplicity of marriage is my favorite part. It doesn’t matter how tough the road is ahead I know who I can count on. Having that person in your life who no matter supports you, loves you and fights with you makes life enjoyable and full of laughs.
Derek took me to the Franklin Park Conservatory on a warm August day in 2018. He planned out the whole day to include our families and friends who would be in hiding once we got there. Of course, my brother was late so he had to stall by keeping me inside the butterfly room way longer than I liked! I’m not a bug fan. When we got to the perfect spot at the park our friends and family rushed out from behind the tall flowers and Derek proposed to me. We had an amazing day of celebration and drinks well into the night.
